Hacking away, slowly but surely, at your edits and thoughts, and they’re all accurate and good, and I LOVE that you’re pushing me to be clearer and more real.” – Trevor Kraus, author of Ticketless

“Matt was a tremendous help. He has a ton of experience in creative writing, and produced some awesome work for my client and I. The aim of the project I hired him for was to evoke an emotional connection in my client’s website visitors with the “About Us” content and the landing page sales copy. He nailed it. A few edits had to be made, but his excellent communication made it simple and easy and he delivered within my client’s deadline. I will be hiring him again.” – Matthew Davis

Praise from readers of the 4.6-star-rated You Are an Author: So Write Your F***ing Book

“I read this book in two days in early October 2016 and was inspired to start making progress on writing my first book. A week later, a friend contacted me and asked for help coauthoring a book. And so, a bit to my surprise, I started writing my first f***ing book.

Matt gives simple and clear (but great) advice and guidance on how to write a book – and that a book is the ultimate platform builder for your career. I highlighted a LOT… there were so many good nuggets that I wanted to remind myself for various points in the process: general inspiration, types of books, research & development strategies, writing tips (including an outline template), and Amazon + marketing advice.” – Clarke Gillespie

“Matt’s book is my Writer’s Bible. Amazing information presented in a simple way.

I am 71 and always thought I had a book in me, but had no way to make it happen. All I read was how to get a publisher lined up. OK so that intimidated me because I didn’t have an agent. I live in Podunk Florida and would be competing with those from NY …Calif etc and didn’t stand a chance.

That was until I saw Matt’s book and read it cover to cover. I feel like I got a Master’s degree on how to put a book together. I’m NOT expecting to be the next J.K. Rowling, but that said I will be a self published author of my own book. I am demonstrating to my grandchildren that no matter what age it’s never too late to follow your dreams.

I refer to the book daily. It has many dog eared pages and post it notes. It has given me the confidence to continue to write and edit.

He is a good man with excellent advice.

If I were I would not hesitate to buy this book. I bought two copies. One for my friend who will be the author of her book too. So put a verb in that dream of yours and just WRITE.” – Trudy Hylant, author of The Day My Twin Died

At various points in our writing process, I came back to Matt’s book to read his advice and strategies. It was very helpful to see direct, applicable advice. Definitely worth reading if you’re considering writing your first book.” – Katherine Conway, author of The Digital Nomad Survival Guide

This is the best book I’ve read about writing and self-publishingso far. And believe me, I’ve read a ton of them. But none of them have had the sort of meat and potatoes information this one has. Rudnitsky has genuine insights into writing for fun an profit that you won’t find anywhere else, and by the end of his book, you will have both the tools and the inspiration to become a successful “authorpreneur”.Based on the price it’s listed at now, there’s no reason to pass it up.” – W. Robey

Oh dude, this is the BEST book on writing I have read! Okay, I’ve not read a lot on writing books, but I have read a lot of books that I’d like to have my money back after what I read. If I did, I’d consider giving that extra money to Matt (well not ALL, a bit) because it was worth way more than 99 cents I gave Kindle. I have two manuscripts in the process now and I started reading Matt’s book while working on the second one. Matt is like the angel and devil on your shoulder only more like the two got smashed into one little devilish-angel. Great advice, pointers, and inspiration on every page. Matt keeps you thinking, guessing and laughing…or at least smiling and I’m a pastor (and Matt uses a lot of, shall we say, colorful language).

Thanks Matt! Keep up the great work!” – Ken Hagler

I’ve spent way too much time reading books about writing but none of them actually got me to write. After reading Matt’s book, I found myself actually sitting down and mapping things out – 2 weeks later, I’ve an outline that I’m actually excited to start writing. Will it be a bestseller? Heck no – and that’s not the point. The point is to get writing.

Matt does this by telling it to you straight – you have to make sure you’re writing for the right reasons, and that you know what you’re getting into. Once you’re okay with that, he lays out some of the best strategies to writing that I’ve read. For me, the most helpful was fleshing out who you’re writing for, their mindset, and what you hope they’ll get out of the book. But I know I’ll be coming back throughout the process, especially for his tactics on getting an audience. Really solid stuff!” – JB

“As someone who wants to be/is a writer, this book was extremely helpful. Writing is hard; you’re always full of self-doubt. But You Are An Author continually picks you up and convinces you that it can be done, each time in a slightly different way. Its overarching message was inspirational, and its tips and tricks for writing were well thought out and have already helped me (leaving your computer charger at home, so that you have to get s*** done before your battery runs out, for example). Finally, its strategical guidance for launching and marketing a book has the long run in mind. Rudnitsky doesn’t just want your book to be a one-day wonder; he wants people to keep coming back to it, recommending it to their friends, and for it to have value for years. Throughout this book, Rudnitsky’s tone is a great mixture of humble, humorous, and encouraging (with plenty of strong quotes from other authors). This is a short but very worthwhile read for anyone who wants to write a book or seven.” – “Amazon Customer”

Matt made me believe that anybody with anything to teach or say that anyone cares about, can write a book. He clearly laid out anything a never-before-published author would need to know to write their first book, and made me want to do it myself. A must-read for a new author or someone who is interested in teaching people about an a topic of expertise.” – Handsome Hank

“Rudnitsky does two things in his book:
1. he leads us through a step by step process of how to write and self publish your book,
2. he takes us by the hand and gets us up and going. No excuses; there is work to be done!
Rudnitsky quotes popular writers, speakers and entrepreneurs such as Seth Godin, Tucker Max, Simon Sinek and Robert M. Pirsig along the way and writes in a conversational, often witty style, that reminds me of Tom Hodgkinson’s How to be Idle and Jonathan Safran Foer’s Eating Animals (although a bit more repetitive at times).
The message basically is: when you have a realistic goal and you work for it, it can be done. Writing and publishing a book according to the steps in his books actually seems like a realistic goal after reading his book.” – “Amazon Customer”

“Matt’s book is full of good inspiration and motivation for those of us who have that constant narrator in our heads. It’s as if I’m always writing a story, it just doesn’t leave my brain for any number of fear-based reasons. But Rudnitsky addresses them and more, even ones I hadn’t thought about, and then he tells you how to write a book. He makes it seem possible.” – Nate Biggs

“Loved it. As an author myself, who has read numerous books with massive claims, Rudnitsky’s book is refreshing and honest. It’s a model all authors should follow. Great advice in here for anyone considering writing and publishing a book. I teach self-publishing and I will be recommending this book to all my students and clients.” – Steve Bivans

“Read it if you’re looking for something to get you up off the couch and working on your book.” – Anne Janzer

“Successfully de-mystified the writing and self-publishing processes and made them feel more accessible. Written with humor and to-the-point. I may need a hard copy to highlight and keep on hand near my word processor!” – Proseygirl (Amazon reviewer)
